SleepyHero earns affiliate commissions on some products we recommend. We disclose this on every review page and below in full. Affiliate revenue does not influence our scores or recommendations.
The short version
When you click an affiliate link on this site and buy the product, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The commission is paid by the merchant (Oura, Saatva, Eight Sleep, etc.), not by you. The price is the same whether you click through us or go directly to the merchant.
We are not paid to write favourable reviews. Our scoring methodology is documented on each review and applies the same weights regardless of commission rate. A product with a 1% commission can score higher than a product with a 10% commission, and vice versa.
How scores stay independent
Three structural protections:
- Methodology before merchant. Each review's score weights are documented in the methodology section (typically: accuracy 25%, comfort 20%, battery 15%, app 25%, value 15%). The same weights apply across every product in a category.
- Reviewer credit. Every review carries a credit for the credentialed clinician (Dr. Logan Foley CSSC for adult sleep, Marie Hansen PSC for pediatric) who reviewed the editorial content. Reviewers are not paid by affiliate relationships.
- Hands-on testing. Once the synthesis-pending phase ends, every Tier 1 review is based on 30-120 nights of hands-on testing. We do not score products we have not tested (after the synthesis phase) or use marketing copy as a basis for verdict.

Rates are approximate and subject to change by the merchant. Some programs run promotional periods with different commission rates.
What about reviews of products without an affiliate program?
We review products regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship. When we recommend a product without a program (e.g., some niche pillows or smaller brands), we route the link to the merchant's site or to Amazon Associates if available. We do not inflate scores for products that pay us more or deflate scores for products without a program.
