How to pick a weighted blanket in 2026
Five decisions collapse this whole category into a clear pick.
1. Get the weight right first
The rule that actually works: ~10% of your body weight. A 150-lb sleeper wants 15 lb (Bearaby Napper 15, YnM 15); 200 lb wants 20. Too heavy feels trapping, too light does nothing. Couples sharing one blanket should size to the LIGHTER person or buy two — weight doesn't average.
2. Glass beads or knit?
Bead-filled blankets (YnM, Gravity, Luna) concentrate weight in quilted pockets — the classic feel, occasionally noisy, warmest. Chunky-knit (Bearaby) IS the weight: open loops of organic cotton that drape and breathe dramatically better. Hot sleepers and texture-sensitive people almost always prefer knit.
