Frequently asked questions

Mack's vs Loop Quiet — which is better for sleep?

Loop is more comfortable and reusable. Mack's blocks more noise (33dB vs 24dB). For most sleep noise, Loop wins. For extreme snoring or industrial-level noise, Mack's.

Are Mack's the same as Hearos or 3M foam earplugs?

All three are similar polyurethane foam at similar NRR ratings. Mack's Ultra Soft is slightly softer than Hearos. Practical difference is minimal.

Do they cause ear infections?

Not if used correctly. Roll before insertion (per package instructions), don't reuse a plug more than 2-3 nights, and don't share plugs with others. Rare infections come from moisture + reuse.

Which side of Mack's goes in?

Roll the plug into a thin cylinder, then insert the tapered end into your ear. Hold in place for 30 seconds while it expands. Correct insertion = 25-30dB actual reduction; poor insertion = only 15dB.
