Pay for the SafeRest if silence and heat matter to you — the cotton-terry-over-membrane build is quieter and cooler than Utopia's thin polyester-jersey-over-TPU sheet. Price does not separate them: the two cost about the same, and which one is cheaper changes from week to week. For a bed you sleep on nightly, SafeRest wins on feel.

Fully waterproof on the surfaces it covers. The membrane backing blocks liquid from reaching the mattress across the top and sides. The catch is coverage, not the barrier: because it's fitted rather than a six-sided encasement, a soaking that runs off the edge can still reach the exposed underside. For spills, sweat, and typical accidents it fully protects the sleep surface.

Less than most. Any waterproof membrane reduces airflow by definition, but SafeRest's is breathable and the cotton terry wicks, so it's cooler than a laminate protector. If you run genuinely hot, the Coop Home Goods protector with its cool-touch Lulltra fabric is the better call — but it costs ~$59 and isn't as universally proven.

No — and this is the honest limit. It's a fitted top-and-sides protector, so it can't enclose the mattress the way bed bugs require to be sealed out. If bed-bug or allergen encasement is the goal, you want a zippered six-sided encasement like the SureGuard or Linenspa instead. SafeRest is a spill-and-sweat protector, not a pest barrier.
