How often should I wash or replace a CPAP hose cover?
Hand-wash it (Snugell's directions say hand-wash with mild soap or its pre-wash solution, then air-dry), ideally on the same schedule as your mask cushion and headgear, and replace it every 3–6 months or whenever the fleece mats down and stops insulating well. A damp or musty-smelling cover should be washed immediately — never run a humidifier through gear that can't dry fully between uses.
Does a fleece hose cover actually stop rainout?
It reduces it rather than eliminating it. Rainout happens when warm, humidified air cools inside the tube and condenses; insulation keeps the air warmer for longer, so less water forms.
