Sound+Sleep's trick is adaptive masking: an onboard mic detects noise spikes (traffic, doors, snorers) and swells the soundscape to cover them, then settles back down. Add 64 rich environments that the brand says don't loop, and a line-out jack, and it's the audiophile's machine. It costs premium money and its richness is overkill for plain-white-noise people.
