The lowest-priced firm topper in our guide: a 3-inch two-layer foam build with a washable cover and corner straps, though BedStory publishes no density or firmness figure.
BedStory's firm topper (sold on its own store as the SPINEALIGN) comes in 2, 3 and 4 inches, which BedStory labels Medium Firm, Firm and Extra Firm. The 3-inch we link is, per BedStory, just under an inch of gel memory foam over about two inches of support foam, in a zipped cover you can take off and machine wash, with four corner straps to stop it sliding. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified and the cover OEKO-TEX Standard 100. BedStory is plain about what it can and cannot do: it calls the topper firm, not soft or medium, and says a mattress that sags or is broken down needs replacing instead. What it does not publish is a density or firmness number, so you cannot compare it on paper with the latex picks.
Price & where to buy
Prices checked 2026-10-24Prices shown were last checked on 2026-10-24 and can change at any time — the price on the retailer's site at checkout is the one that applies. How our prices work
We show the price at our recommended retailer as at our last check of that offer (2026-10-24) and, when Amazon reports one, its list price for comparison. Amazon prices come from Amazon's own product data service and are refreshed twice a day; each one shows the date and time Amazon gave it, and one older than 24 hours is replaced by “Check price”. Other retailers' prices are checked by hand and show the date of that check. Retail prices move constantly, so the price on the retailer's own page at checkout is the one that applies. Frequently asked questions
How firm is it?
BedStory calls it firm, not soft or medium, and says it is made to stop sinking and add support. It does not publish an ILD or density figure, so there is no number to compare with the latex toppers in our guide. If your mattress is too firm and you want it softer, BedStory says this is the wrong topper.
2, 3 or 4 inches?
BedStory labels the 2-inch Medium Firm, the 3-inch Firm and the 4-inch Extra Firm. It suggests the 2-inch for a mattress only a little too soft, the 3-inch as its most popular pick, and the 4-inch for older or very worn mattresses. We link the 3-inch.
Will it fix a sagging mattress?
BedStory says no: if your mattress sags or is broken down, you need a new mattress. The topper suits a mattress that is still solid but has lost its comfort.
Is there a trial?
BedStory advertises a 365-night home trial and a 10-year limited warranty on its own store. A topper bought on Amazon follows Amazon's return policy, so check the listing before you count on the trial.
Can I wash it?
The cover unzips and goes in the washing machine. BedStory says never to wash or tumble-dry the foam itself; wipe it with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
