ViscoSoft Restore HD Select High Density Topper (3-Inch)
Best for: A worn mattress that needs support back, for sleepers who want some contouring
Dense memory foam with a medium-firm feel: the pick for a tired mattress that needs support back without going hard, though it is not a truly firm topper.
The Restore HD is ViscoSoft's high-density topper. ViscoSoft rates its DensityCore foam at 3.1 lb per cubic foot and describes the feel as medium-firm: it contours at the shoulders and hips and pushes back elsewhere. That puts it in a different place from the latex picks in our guide. It will hold up a mattress that has gone soft with wear, but if you want a hard surface, the latex toppers are firmer, and ViscoSoft itself says its 4-inch version feels firmer than the 3-inch we link. The foam is gel-infused with vertical airflow channels, sits in a removable machine-washable cover, and has gel-lined corner straps plus a beaded non-slip base to keep it in place. ViscoSoft backs it with a 5-year warranty.

How our prices work
We show the price at our recommended retailer as at our last check of that offer (2026-10-24) and, when Amazon reports one, its list price for comparison. Amazon prices come from Amazon's own product data service and are refreshed twice a day; each one shows the date and time Amazon gave it, and one older than 24 hours is replaced by “Check price”. Other retailers' prices are checked by hand and show the date of that check. Retail prices move constantly, so the price on the retailer's own page at checkout is the one that applies. Frequently asked questions
Is it a firm topper?
Not quite. ViscoSoft describes the feel as medium-firm: it contours for pressure relief but pushes back with support. That makes it a good fix for a mattress that has gone too soft with wear. If you want a properly firm surface, a firm latex topper will feel firmer, or go for ViscoSoft's 4-inch, which the brand says is firmer than the 3-inch.
What does 3.1 lb density mean?
Density is how much foam is packed into a cubic foot. Denser foam generally holds its shape longer and lets you sink less. ViscoSoft rates its foam at 3.1 lb per cubic foot and says most toppers use 2.0 to 2.5 lb foam. Density is not the same as firmness, though: it tells you how much foam there is, not how hard it feels.
Will it fix a sagging mattress?
No topper can level a real dip. A dense topper helps a mattress whose comfort layer has worn soft, but if the mattress has sagged where you sleep, the topper follows the sag and the money is better spent on a new mattress.
Can I return it?
ViscoSoft offers a 90-day money-back guarantee on purchases made at viscosoft.com. A topper bought on Amazon follows Amazon's return policy instead.
