Latex Mattress Factory Dunlop Latex Topper (Firm, 2-Inch)
Best for: A firmer surface on a mattress that is only a little too soft
Plain natural Dunlop latex at a published 38 ILD: a firm layer from a factory-direct maker, for a mattress that has gone a little too soft.
Latex Mattress Factory makes its firm topper from what it calls 100% natural Dunlop latex, in two grades: Firm at 38 ILD and X-Firm at 44 ILD. ILD is the force it takes to press the foam down, so a higher number feels firmer. Amazon sells only the Firm grade in a 2-inch layer, the one we link; the X-Firm and the 3-inch are on the brand's own store. The brand's own advice is that back and stomach sleepers on a soft mattress usually do better starting with X-Firm, and that Firm suits sleepers who want a firmer, more supportive surface on a bed that is not badly worn. There is no cover in the box; Latex Mattress Factory sells an organic cotton zippered cover separately.
Price & where to buy
Prices checked 2026-10-24Prices shown were last checked on 2026-10-24 and can change at any time — the price on the retailer's site at checkout is the one that applies. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. How our prices work
We show the price at our recommended retailer as at our last check of that offer (2026-10-24) and, when Amazon reports one, its list price for comparison. Amazon prices come from Amazon's own product data service and are refreshed twice a day; each one shows the date and time Amazon gave it, and one older than 24 hours is replaced by “Check price”. Other retailers' prices are checked by hand and show the date of that check. Retail prices move constantly, so the price on the retailer's own page at checkout is the one that applies. Frequently asked questions
What does 38 ILD mean?
ILD (indentation load deflection) is the force, in pounds, it takes to press a foam sample down by a set amount. Higher means firmer. Latex Mattress Factory rates its Firm grade at 38 and its X-Firm at 44. Brands do not always test the same way, so treat ILD figures from different makers as a rough guide rather than an exact match.
Firm or X-Firm?
Latex Mattress Factory says back and stomach sleepers on a soft mattress usually do best starting with X-Firm, while Firm suits sleepers who want a firmer, more supportive surface on a bed that is not badly worn. Amazon sells only the Firm, so for X-Firm you need the brand's own store.
Does it come with a cover?
No. The topper is bare latex. Latex Mattress Factory sells an organic stretch cotton zippered cover separately, or it can go straight under a fitted sheet.
Will it fix a sagging mattress?
No topper can. A firm layer adds support on top of a mattress that still lies flat; on a mattress with a dip, the latex follows the dip. If your bed has sagged, put the money towards a new mattress.
How long does it last?
Latex Mattress Factory says its latex toppers can last up to 10 years with proper care. That is the brand's figure; the product page does not state a warranty length, so ask the brand before you buy if that matters to you.
